My name is Billy Hunt, and I am a wedding and portrait photographer in Charlottesville, Virginia. In addition to producing amazing imagery, I create a relaxed, positive space for my brides, grooms and everyone I photograph. My clients are discerning, thoughtful people, who not only want great imagery, but want to enjoy the experience. I love what I do, and I think that it shows in my work.
This website showcases my weddings, portraits and personal endeavors as an artist. Through it, I hope you can get a sense of who I am. Thanks for visiting and feel free to contact me if you have any questions or feedback.
There is a great house here in Charlottesville off of 250 that is decorated wonderfully. It looks like a Christmas Light bomb went off. Anyway, I was playing around with my camera and came up with some fun abstract images. I hope you like them. Happy Holidays.
Last week I had the chance to be a part of Charlottesville Help Portrait, where photographers offered free portraits to families for the holidays. I did not know what to expect, but ended up having a great time, met a lot of cool photographers, and got my heart warmed by some families that had never had their portrait taken. It was wonderful.
I made a short video of the experience. I hope you enjoy it.
I really enjoyed photographing Bess and Mike on their wedding day. Not only are they a super attractive couple, they also happened to be a lot of fun. Their wedding was accented by Mike’s cutie-pie children running about the evening. Cupcakes, fall weather, throwing flower petals…. the afternoon definitely encompassed some of my favorite things in life. Here is a slideshow of Bess and Mike’s wedding day.
Leslie and Josh put on a lovely wedding at the McGuffey Art Center. I have known Leslie since college, and Josh for almost 10 years, so I really wanted to do them a service with my photography. Luckily, they made it easy for me, and it was fun to use the art on the walls in the composition of my images. The evening was a perfect balance of quirkiness with elegance. Leslie is a classic beauty and Josh looked handsome as well. Great food, wonderful music, great company, and a bagpiper are definitely a recipe for a great wedding.
I love cooking with my 3 year old son William, and Jocelyn has been saying we should make a video of it for a while now. This weekend I took a stab at making one. It feels like more of a home movie then a professional video, but I love it. Who knew it would be so hard to cook, film a video, and keep my son from burning himself on the stove?
Bess and Mike are such a beautiful couple. Their wedding took place at the quaint Chapel at Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg. The day was sunny and full of family togetherness and love. It seemed like a perfect fit for Bess and Mike to get married over Thanksgiving weekend. Here is a preview of their day.
Just wanted to mention that some photographer friends of mine are hosting the local Help-Portrait here in Charlottesville. If you or someone you know is in a bad spot and would like a portrait, this would be a great place to get a free one. Here is some more information.
Also, they need some help with hair and makeup, catering, a few volunteers, and spreading the word so anyone who wants their portrait knows about it and can get it done. Contact Christian DeBaun for more information.
Leslie and Josh are good friend’s of mine so this wedding was extra fun for me to photograph. Leslie and Josh chose the McGuffey Art Center as their wedding and reception venue. Their celebration was very intimate and personal. Of course, any party with a bag piper is golden in my book. Below is a preview of their wedding.
