Bess and Mike's Engagement Portraits

November 6th, 2009

I think that Bess and Miked chose the peek day of the year to get their engagement portraits taken. We walked along the Rivanna trail, completely immersed in the super bright colors of early fall. And of course, their love was shining just as brightly as the sun. I am looking forward to photographing their wedding in just a couple weeks. Here is a preview of Bess and Mike’s portraits.

Keri and Patrick's Engagement Portrait and Bowl-o-rama

June 11th, 2009

When I asked Keri and Patrick where they wanted to take their engagement portrait, I was expecing maybe a vineyard, or a nice restaurant on the Downtown Mall. Obviously, I was super excited when they suggested we photograph them at Keglers, the local bowling alley. I want to say it was the perfect photoshoot, but there was one huge problem. I bowled the worst game of my life. Keri kept making fun of me. It was painful. I want to say I threw the game. I want to say I was too focused on my photography to play well. All I can really say is that I bowled a freakin’ 43! Ouch.

Casey and Morgan Engagement Photos

May 13th, 2009

Last weekend, I finally got the chance to take engagement portraits of Casey and Morgan. Casey is one of my oldest friends, and Morgan is awesome. We photographed the pictures on a beautiful day at an old manor house owned by the company Casey works for. It was a very special day, and I can’t wait until their wedding next weekend.

Marylyle and Jordan's Engagement Photos

April 21st, 2009

Marylyle and Jordan were amazing to photograph.  Most everyone takes some time to warm up and get comfortable during a shoot.  Not so with these two.  Right out of the gate, they were engaging and funny, hamming it up and looking good.  Plus they “made out” for the camera in the stacks of the library.  Nice.

Mary & John Engagement Photos

April 15th, 2009

I had so much fun with Mary and John last week. We went down to UVA’s campus and walked through the gardens, talking about love and life, and the viability of Amazon’s e-reader. Mostly about love and life though. Thanks you two.

Christina and Danny's engagement shoot in Downtown Charlottesville

September 16th, 2008

I am so happy with my engagement photos of Christina and Danny’s in downtown Charlottesville. The experience was amazing, casual, fun, and cool, and I think the imagery reflects it.  We walked along the downtown mall, stopped at Blue Light and Zocalo, and hung out in my favorite alley behind my studio. Not to embarrass them, but look how in love they are.  Danny is seriously one of the funniest people I have ever met, and both of them are a joy to spend time with.  Some may say it was wrong for Danny to wear a Led Zeppelin shirt in his engagement photo.  Well, if that’s wrong, both Danny and I don’t want to be right.
