Wistar and Darren’s Wedding Preview

December 29th, 2008

For my last wedding of the year, I had the pleasure of photographing Wistar and Darren at Live Arts in Charlottesville. Wistar and Darren, not to mention most of their guests, are friends of mine, which was both awesome and challenging. Also, this was the first wedding where I had a “photobooth” set up, which was also awesome and challenging (people get crazy in a photobooth.  Who knew?)  Here are a few images, with more to come next week.

Tiffany and Joey’s Engagement Photos.

December 12th, 2008

Tiffany and Joey are my kind of people. Fun, engaging, and a pleasure to be around. Their engagement shoot last weekend on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall was good times. If I had not had to relieve Jocelyn watching William, I think I would have continued photographing them for hours, just for the pleasure of their company. I can already tell their wedding is going to be amazing.

Betsy & Danny’s Wedding

December 9th, 2008

Betsy and Danny’s wedding in Suffolk was great. As I mentioned before, Betsy is Eddie’s twin sister, so right from the beginning, I felt like a part of the family. This in no small part to the kindness and generosity of Betsy and Danny’s friends and family.

My greatest challenge at this wedding was not to over-photograph the amazing ice sculpture of Betsy’s dog, Colonel. Several times I had to tear myself away from him, in all his frozen glory. Whatever Suffolk artisan created The Ice-Colonel, I salute you.

Talley & Jonathan’s wedding

December 3rd, 2008

Through an odd series of circumstances, I have been working with Talley and Jonathan on their wedding for over a year. My normal turnaround time for a wedding is closer to a week, so this is pretty significant. The wonderful upside is, I have become good friends with both Talley and Jonathan, have shared with them in life’s inevitable ups and downs, and have gotten to see their relationship together grow ever stronger. I am so happy that they chose me to photograph their wedding, and look forward to spending even more time with them in the future.

Also, I would like to offer bonus points to whoever can spot the banana in one of the images.

Lisa and Rick’s Wedding

November 25th, 2008

Sweet Lisa and Rick. Their Maymont Park wedding in Richmond, Virginia was so fun and refreshing. Lisa is funny, sweet, and beautiful. Rick is easygoing, also funny, and fun to be around. They work well together.

On the drive down to Richmond, the weather looked pretty miserable, but just as we arrived, the sun broke through and Jeremy and I had some of the best weather we have had all year. The light was beautiful, and everyone was so excited for the day, that it made my job easy. This is exactly the type of event that makes me love what I do.

Jeremy and I went down to Suffolk last weekend to photograph Betsy and Danny’s wedding. Betsy is Eddie’s twin sister, and this is the first time I have photographed one twin’s wedding, then another. I love photographing the same people at different wedding. Everyone is relaxed, and I feel even more a part of the family.

Charlotte & Carl’s Wedding

November 21st, 2008

Charlotte and Carl’s elopement at the Clifton Inn here in Charlottesville was lovely. Rev. Claire Goodman, Jeremy, and I were the only witnesses to their simple, elegant, beautiful ceremony. They were so happy, and I cannot articulate how refreshing their wedding was. Charlotte and Carl, thank you for letting us be a part of it,

Lisa and Rick’s Wedding Preview

November 17th, 2008

Lisa and Rick’s wedding at Maymont Park in Richmond was absolutely beautiful. The weather broke was rainy before and after, but was perfect during the ceremony and reception. The park itself had a beautiful, European look that was like Bush Gardens, but even nicer (kidding).

I will show you more later, with a slideshow further detailing what a handsome couple Lisa and Rick really are.

Carrie and Eddie’s Wedding

November 14th, 2008

I had so much fun with Carrie and Eddie at their Omni Hotel wedding.  We ran around the downtown mall before the wedding, trying on sunglasses, having coctails, and generally enjoying ourselves.  Eddie is a super nice, easygoing, friendly guy.  Carrie is very fun, knows tons of people and is also a pleasure.  Both of them are obviously in love, and very sweet with one another.  They can dance too.  Thanks for the good times.

Charlotte and Carl’s Wedding preview

November 12th, 2008

I cannot tell you how refreshing it was to photograph Charlotte and Carl’s “elopement” at The Clifton Inn. The only people in attendance were Charlotte, Carl, Rev. Claire Goodman, my assistant Jeremy, and I. And after Friday night’s art opening, it was very refreshing to be in the company of such a spiritually centered couple who had such a relaxed, thought out, elegant wedding. Thank you two so much.
