Rachel and Brendan’s Wedding

August 4th, 2010

Rachel and Brendan were so cool. Their wedding almost seemed like a musical, with everyone spontaneously breaking into song at random points in the day. I am really proud of the imagery, and I hope you like it too.

I decided to try my hand at wedding videography for Rachel and Brendan’s amazing wedding at Ash Lawn. I will be posting the photos soon. Here is the video.

Christine and Dan Wedding Slideshow

June 28th, 2010

Rain means good luck at a wedding, and Christine and Dan must be the luckiest people on Earth. Their wedding at Graves Mountain Lodge was completely beautiful, with rain showers coming through periodically. Indoor, outdoor, indoor, outdoor, what to do, what to do? The sky was clearing when the call made to drive the guests to the top of the mountain on a hayride. 125 amazing friends watched Christine and Dan proclaim their love for one another as a the skies opened up and a heavy warm summer rain soaked everyone. Very romantic.

I hope you enjoy the slideshow.

Christine and Dan Wedding Preview

June 3rd, 2010

Oh my gosh, Christine and Dan are troopers. They got married this past weekend. On a mountain. In a monsoon.

It was one of those days where the sun looked like it would break through at any minute, so by the time Christine and her bridesmaids were up at the beautiful site at Graves Mountain, it was go time, no matter what the weather. And go they did. There is something so romantic about a wedding in the rain, and everyone looked beautiful.

Here is a preview. More to come later.

Sara and Chad's Wedding Slideshow

February 24th, 2010

Chad is a Chef for Harvest Moon Catering here in Charlottesville, Virginia. I am good friends with Harvest Moon, so I wanted to make sure I photographed their wedding at Livearts and Second Street Gallery well. Sara was stunning, and Chad was looking fine himself. This was probably the lowest light ceremony I have ever shot, and I love the way it looks. There are two pictures that really stand out to me. One is the wide shot of the ceremony. Its so dark and intimate. The other is Sara and Chad getting ready. Both of them are separated by a thin wall, minutes from being married, and they can’t see each other. So romantic.

Marylyle and Jordan's Wedding Featured in Offbeat Bride

February 2nd, 2010

Marylyle and Jordan’s Celtic and Jewish wedding was featured in the always cool Offbeat Bride this week. The Celtic/Unitarian/Sephardic traditions they drew from are a testament to what is possible with today’s weddings. I love how unique their wedding was, and I am honored to have been their photographer.

Sara and Chad's Wedding Preview

January 20th, 2010

I had a great time at Sara and Chad’s wedding. Their wedding day at Live Arts and the Second Street Gallery was quaint, elegant and very genuine. I think that the highlights of the evening, for me, were the dance that Sara and Chad performed together (they are classy!) and, of course, the amazing spread of food. Chad is a chef for Harvest Moon Catering and he managed to put together the perfect assortment of appetizers to keep everybody happy throughout the night. Here is some imagery from the night.

Bess and Mike's Wedding Slideshow

December 15th, 2009

I really enjoyed photographing Bess and Mike on their wedding day. Not only are they a super attractive couple, they also happened to be a lot of fun. Their wedding was accented by Mike’s cutie-pie children running about the evening. Cupcakes, fall weather, throwing flower petals…. the afternoon definitely encompassed some of my favorite things in life. Here is a slideshow of Bess and Mike’s wedding day.

Leslie and Josh's Wedding Slideshow

December 11th, 2009

Leslie and Josh put on a lovely wedding at the McGuffey Art Center. I have known Leslie since college, and Josh for almost 10 years, so I really wanted to do them a service with my photography. Luckily, they made it easy for me, and it was fun to use the art on the walls in the composition of my images. The evening was a perfect balance of quirkiness with elegance. Leslie is a classic beauty and Josh looked handsome as well. Great food, wonderful music, great company, and a bagpiper are definitely a recipe for a great wedding.

Bess and Mike's Wedding Preview

Bess and Mike are such a beautiful couple. Their wedding took place at the quaint Chapel at Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg. The day was sunny and full of family togetherness and love. It seemed like a perfect fit for Bess and Mike to get married over Thanksgiving weekend. Here is a preview of their day.
