Free Portrait for Anyone who is Unemployed and Looking for a Job
As we get ready for spring, I was trying to think of something I could do for all the people who are hurting in these economically uncertain times. That is when I read in PDN about Scott Streble, who took portraits of unemployed people who need a headshot to help them find work.
Soooo, I figured I would copy him. Next Friday, April 3, I am offering a free image to anyone in the Charlottesville area who is unemployed and needs a professional picture to help him or her look for work (for their Facebook or LinkedIn profile, or whatever). Contact me to schedule a 20 minute slot between 9am and 2:30pm in my studio downtown.
Is it overwrought to use this image of a winter tree getting ready to bloom in this post? Why, yes. Yes it is.

Billy ~ This is a very cool thing that you are doing for the community!
I heard abt. a drycleaner (somewhere) when I was listening to NPR the other night – he was offering to clean a suit or an outfil to anyone who is homeless & needs to look presentable to go on a job interview.
Keep on chooglin'!

What a splendid idea, B-Dawg! Maybe Cville Weekly would post a "facebook" of all the folks who posed for you and all about their search, qualifications etc!
