Litter in Charlottesville's Wild Spaces
I finally settled on what I am going to show at my upcoming photography show in June at Cafe Cubano. I have been spending a lot of time in some of Charlottesville’s wild spaces lately. I love being in nature, but I keep noticing all the signs of human habitation, especially waste. Bottles, tires, even refrigerators. Its a kind of damaged beauty that I find interesting, in a sad kind of way. I think I will call it Disposable Rivanna.
Anyway, check out what I have done so far. I would love to get your input while I am still in the early stages of working on the project.

Nice to see the work. I think my fav is the first one, nice comp subtle approach to the concept. 4 & 2 my next favs. 3&5 a bit harder to read, 3 may be too obvious 5 not enough. This is my humble opinion. I would like to see the series in a slideshow format, I like to isolate the image and give it it's own frame. Look forward to seeing more.

what is interesting to me (from a botanist perspective) is that i see the "trashy/weedy" plants first and then see the trash. not only is human trash more common but invasive weeds go hand in hand. i like the idea, keep it going. lots of places to find good material.
sometimes it is not too sad. at ivy creek, the so-called trash from the old farm has become part of the rich story there (tree has grown around barbed wire fence).
